This site’s best feature is the fully fenced junior/toddler play park that offers lots of equipment for children. A lovely grassed section houses toddler spring rides and pieces of old quarry machinery for children to explore. Multiple shaded barbeque and picnic settings situated inside the fenced play park allow children to stay near while adults enjoy a group gathering. Those people using wheelchairs unassisted have access over flat terrain and parking is provided.

In nearby Apex Park, sport enthusiasts will find a BMX bike track with big hills, jumps and tightly banked turns as well as netted tennis courts. The City of Mitcham/Belair bike and walking trail passes by here and the adjacent Hawthorndene Oval suits open kick/play activities. Dogs must be on lead and they are not permitted within the play park.
