This is another of those hidden treasures that you may have driven near numerous times,
but be unaware of its existence. This lovely and relaxing haven is under the shade of a
variety of large trees.
Filled with singing birds who, like us, may be attracted by the sister city garden display. Komubunji,
in Japan is Marion’s sister city and the display has a beautiful Japanese garden side by side with a
natural billabong, drawing the two cultures together. A playground for toddlers and juniors is centrally
positioned near some inviting and open kick/play spaces. Multi-barbeques and picnic settings under
both provided and natural shelter, assist family gathering needs which are well suited here as are their
photographic needs. Provided parking and compressed paths assist those people using wheelchairs in
some parts but it is awkward in others, like the footbridge crossing the aptly fenced Stuart River. The
Linear Park and City to Marino Rocks walk/bike trails, both which are great outing, cross here. Dogs
under control are welcome.
