Botanic Park is a large, grassed, well-shaded family retreat that stretches past the entrance of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide and the Adelaide Zoo, to the user friendly bike and walking trails of the River Torrens. People using wheelchairs have good unassisted access in all parts of the park. They are aided further by the provided parking. Multiple barbeque and picnic settings are situated near open kick and play spaces, making this area great for family gatherings.
Take advantage of the FREE entrance to the Botanic Gardens and enjoy the gorgeous ever-changing natural displays. A exhibition of flowers dispenses brilliant colour throughout the displays of flora and fauna from around the world. The Old Palm House, Botanic Museum, Herbarium and International Rose Garden are further displays of splendour. The lakes of the gardens are home to large numbers of ducks, swans and an impressive flurry of visiting birds. FREE guided walks are available every day at 10.30am and begin adjacent to the Botanic Garden Restaurant. Dogs on leads are welcome in the parks but not in the Botanic Gardens.
