An intoxicating air of importance emanates from this historic site, where on 28 December 1836, the colony of South Australia was established as a province.

Paths crossing the fl at terrain and passing under the now sheltered old gum tree aid unassisted access for those of us using wheelchairs. Whilst suitable for your picnic blanket, this grassed and shaded reserve is sadly without a barbeque. An open kick/play space adjoins a popular junior/toddler playground with provided seating. A map is provided to show the route from here for the 3km long Proclamation Trail that links a number of keys sites and tells the story of settlement in Glenelg. Dogs on leads are always welcome.
